The Challenge
We were challenged by INM to work alongside their innovative product team to devise and develop a unique new content platform solely for Irish bloggers - all the best Irish blogging content in one place. The site needed to allow users to browse, bookmark and follow their favourite content in one place. We were delighted to collaborate with Independent News & Media on their journey to develop new digital platforms and products.
Process
We love the potential of new digital products and ideas and this project was no different. The Creators product team were excited by their project, and a dream to partner with. We explored, examined and pinned down the user journeys, from entry right down to content read and save. Once we had a plan in place, we devised a unique 'stepped' process of working to suit Creators, with phased releases. We fleshed the journey out with comprehensive and creative wireframes, followed by user interface layouts, with particular care taken on the key actions, Bookmark and Save. We built the system to integrate with Yii to capture all analytics and data. A secure account section was built to allow the user to see save items and keep track of favourites.Our Solution
Apart from the all-important users, mobile was central to this project. If it wasn't easy to use on mobile, it wouldn't work. So we got our creative on. We focused on a 'card' system where each entry is treated as a standalone simple card, with a tactile 'real' feel. We simplified the requested action panel down to 2 fun-looking simple actions, making it super easy to take action. Users have their own account section, where they can view all likes and bookmarked content. MOR created a unique, innovative widget which all Creators bloggers have installed on their own blogs, allowing the user to save and bookmark favourite content to their account even when outside Creators.
